“Her heart was made of liquid sunsets”- Virginia Woolf
So, this is how it starts, backwards and forwards
A canopy of fire dwindling in the mercury stars of ocean
Routing the past weeds and merciless eyes
Imbroglio thunders often attacked me, I threw fits and seizure
on these wooden floors on the horizons of your body
and so much vomit, Ah!
But you see the endings do not end here,
My teardrop holds your bones and breaths
uncountable fantasies clinging my necklace
Prolixity of your memories often defeat the pendulum
I carry so much in my heart if precisely stating.
And so this is how it begins in the stardust and galaxies
where I calm my madness and powder my worries
dropping my heavy footsteps into the pool of oceanic torrent
The electric waves do teach me brightness and darkness if you must say
And my heart takes everything you spit on my bedsheet
My heart touches the ebb of mundane sunrises and sunsets
Still working the aftermaths, hurricanes, polemical truths.
P.S- Virginia Woolf’s writings are always resonating and mesmerizing to me. My words are only and only a small tribute to this powerful soul! She shall always be an inspiration.

Don’t mind miss, but there’s a minor mistake , It would be Virginia Woolf not Virginia Wolf.
By the way, the ode is so beautiful👏

This is momentous, Devika, and really exemplifies the power of literature in us, in galaxies. This especially resonated:

This is not dark. This is intense and requires more depth I guess.
Anyway, your words are always moving and heart melting. Thank you for appreciating this work once again.

I love this! Virgiia Woolf’s extended essay, A Room of One’s Own, is among my all time favorite reads. I applaud the work she did in bringing the struggle of women writers to the forefront. She would be pleased to read your work and to see the formidable writer you are 🙂

Have never read Virginia Wolf. Tbh I was never much into poetry before opening my blog but ever since across yours, I’ve been loving your work more and more each day! In this verse, I loved quite a few lines, like the way you brought the nature and universe in the poem, but this simple line stood out for me “Prolixity of your memories often defeat the pendulum”. It’s just beautifully penned! Love it! ❤ ❤

Like the characters in her uniquely styled novels, Virginia Woolf herself had her own singular
creative point of view to address, to work “the aftermaths, hurricanes, polemical truths.”
Thank you for your tribute to this special artist. gray
