Stick like a Shadow

I cling to your mauvy shadow
Like an auburn Meraki of stars
 In the meadows of lust,
 In the turbid blue hemisphere
 Seeking your Serendipity of breaths,
Brushing your knots of cryptic bizarre kiss
And mixing with my tainted red lipstick.
 Swallowing.  Choking. Yearning.

  1. Reading this is like looking at a piece of artwork and being moved by it but not fully understanding all the places it touches. The title, a descriptive and vivid one, draws you in and your use of meraki (which you have used before) is unique to its origin. I love most what is not said in these lines and that’s the reason why one stick like a shadow in the first place. Captivating and intriguing, your use of lust, cryptic and kiss, in conjunction with tainted, choking, yearning, tells a deeper story of longing for that connection to be a physical one. Sometimes, we need to step out of those shadows. A brilliant poem, Devika!
