I cling to your mauvy shadow
Like an auburn Meraki of stars
In the meadows of lust,
In the turbid blue hemisphere
Seeking your Serendipity of breaths,
Brushing your knots of cryptic bizarre kiss
And mixing with my tainted red lipstick.
Swallowing. Choking. Yearning.

Reading this is like looking at a piece of artwork and being moved by it but not fully understanding all the places it touches. The title, a descriptive and vivid one, draws you in and your use of meraki (which you have used before) is unique to its origin. I love most what is not said in these lines and that’s the reason why one stick like a shadow in the first place. Captivating and intriguing, your use of lust, cryptic and kiss, in conjunction with tainted, choking, yearning, tells a deeper story of longing for that connection to be a physical one. Sometimes, we need to step out of those shadows. A brilliant poem, Devika!
Meraki is my favourite word and so I admit of using it over the time and I am satisfied to learn how precisely you have noticed that fact for you out of all read my work like no one else!
I think it is slightly upto a reader how to take the title and it’s relevance to the poetry hidden behind for each mind will speak a beautiful form annd yours is so on point as always, Alex!
Thank you so much for appreciating my words as you always charm me through your sweet words!
🙏
You are welcome, Devika, always. I know thee are words and images you hold dear to your heart and it’s always lovely seeing them appear in your work. Yes, poetry is subjective to the reader and I am happy to have been able to comment on point about your work. Hope you are having a great week, my friend. Blessings to you!
I am crying right now as I am already suffering twists of my life.
I mean no harm or rude comments to you even though I have no idea of what you are talking about.
But this blog is precious to me and so I will myself curtail myself from your touch.
I looked upon you as my sir only.
Sorry!
