Moonlit Romance

Imagine walking on your balcony to a moon this close...

“Under your skin, the moon is alive”- Pablo Neruda

My body has gone counting
The twists and folds of your skin.
My hands have carved a tattoo
plunged into your chest,
where a basket of sunrises glitter
like the moon’s hideous smile.
I have heard the murmurs of your heart
where white earth blooms.
Like sagacious door-knob,
And the small key-hole,
where I flow like mesmerizing dust,
Aurora hair sparkles,
golden Orion of moon slice resists in you.
Crackles, splinters, chills, winters
found in your wet earlobe,
as I walk upon the moist earth,
my sagging dreams
only to meet your infinite luscious skins of skin.

  1. Again, this piece, demonstrates the chaos inside the mind of the poet. Juxtaposed images like the glitter of sunrises and the hideous smile of the moon, show how all emotions rise inside of us. The sagging dreams is telling of how heavy our drams become when we’ve carried them for so long. I love the opening lines, too, of the body counting the folds of skin of a lover, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard a door knob referred to as being clever. This level of subtle personification is sagacious in itself πŸ™‚ The ending is perfect, for where better to meet, than along those skins of skin.

  2. I apologize for not commenting much on your wonderful poetry of late.
I’ve been quite busy working with my editor to refine a rather rough 1100 pages
down to a more manageable 723 pages for a new blog.
I should have a bit more time going forward and besides reading your beautiful poetry,
I hope you don’t mind if I comment more upon it.
    Here’s to your β€œbasket of sunrises”…
    lightning runs
    like light
    down the cracks
    of a shattered
    mirror
    a many
    hued copper
    sunrise extends
    like the hand
    of a child
    to a mother
    awaking in the
    morning just now
    like the miracle
    that is each day

    1. I wish you all the best for your next project.
Hope it turns out amazing as well.
I do not doubt your writing skill. And it’s totally understandable if you are not replying or commenting. There is no problem as all I want is my poetry to be still the same.
Thank you for your deep insights and amazing lines.
Lovely to hear from you always.
      Much thanks!

  3. Coincidentally I just read Neruda’s one of beautiful work yesterday & still mesmerized by his few beautiful lines “i want to do with you what spring does with cherry trees” and so is your work that is mesmering on reading.

  4. Understood most of it. Was romantic. A few of the imageries you wove were very beautiful! Great! The word choice was, as always, sublime, and indicative of your style.
