Reverberating Words( A Collaboration)

I am so grateful to Nandita for collaborating with me as I really adore her superb writings. She is truly gifted and a sweetheart.

Italics- Nandita

Hallucinations of clock hovers my hairline
dripping ink, dripping heart
in the truths and meadows of lost adventures
I shut my eyes, thinking black and grey music
I think of Chardonnay, I think of a vintage museum
Notions of time and space breathe fire on my neck
I exhale mists of consciousness even as I
I am lost in my own numbness,
I am my own Alice in Wonderland, I pinch my nakedness
Reality tastes different from what I dream
I shut it out, I sway in the music I make
I sip the hunger of my heavy eyelids
slowly and softly, like the flow of coffins
Emancipation, Satisfaction.
I drink the ambrosia of the blood moon
The nectar driving me to a state of nirvana
Hysteria, satiation
The blue’s of my ink and the black’s of my mind
reminds me of those chills and strawberry summers
I draw  a map beneath my fingers, and words come out
Stagnant words, Artless words, Words.
And I put my eyes and my hands swinging now
to meet the demarcations, to meet the oblivion.
Tangerine blood caresses ivory sheets
with azure strokes of tea rose and papaya whip
whisking though, in rainforest eyes, avocado dreams
I carve out impressions on my fingertips
I watch my amorphous words
draw shapes and patterns from my nebulous existence
While I become a pendulum to satiate my nothingness

  1. This is such a wonderful piece, D! Nandita and you seem to be in complete sync with each other in terms of the essence and the core of the poem. A great collaboration indeed and I can’t wait for more. 🤗

  2. Simply brilliant.. reverberating still in my mind. Loved the highly resonating lines between “I sip the hunger..” to “hysteria, satiation” the most.

  3. It was such a sweet coincidence as I was binge reading Nandita’s blog and we exchanged some comments yesterday and today I find two of the great poetess entwined in one poem. A reader’s delight I must say.

  4. What! You do collabs! -mental note-

As for the poem.. You two are so uncanny with this vision. I literally couldn’t separate you (especially since I can’t see the italics). Art reverberates within these nuances. It comes across like it was written by one writer. Beautiful work. Also, I like that you used the Katherine Hepburn image.

    1. I could not be more happy after reading this as I am all smiles now. I am so touched A.G.
And yes I am a bit obnoxious when it comes to doing collaboration . I actually don’t!

But I am glad you enjoyed this art. Thank you so much.

  5. Swaying back & forth. Touching the reality, living the dream, passing fingers through the portal, only to catch on the truth that keeps slipping through the closed fist of comfort that bathes the tender nerve endings. Beautiful adventure. Bravo
