As You Lay Dying

vintage glamour black and white photography couples | black and white, fashion, mirror, pearls, vintage eyes

How many dark spots do you have,

Lizards and crocodile scream

to see you knitting lips on lips.

Papers mock your hubris hands

Ruffles and hibernation

In the planets of chivalry

in the swamp of lies

I see your lies and eyes,

A corrosion of rock.

I am a piece of molten clock

and

Your dark fingers are bait

like burning of ashes

cold powder.

Burial grounds smirk,

vicious cigars, vicious you

Discomfort intrudes my throat

with swollen ebbs of a horizon

I am a distorted voice

to see your insane games

only

I am more rapturous to

see you dying.

  1. I’m curious have you ever been influence by the ‘Surrealism movement’? Your work and the way you express yourself is very surrealism and packed with imagery that gets the reader to understand how you feel and what sparks the inspiration.

I’m so sorry your going through this issue with people. I hope I’m not one of them.

    Your work is amazing.

    1. As for now i write only what triggers my mind and mostly it’s cryptic and dark. I have not read anything as you mentioned but would definitely love to peep into that horizon.
Thank you for those warm wishes and yes I will be fine soon.

      Thank you Charlie.

      1. Your writing is cryptic and dark and I think that’s why I am always surprised and amazed by your creativity in writing and your vision of words that play in the readers imagination.

You are a master of your own craft. 🙂

Here’s a link to a surrealism page dedicated to poets. scroll down and you’ll see all the surrealist poets and how they write and which reminds me of your work.

    2. I definitely feel that this poem has a surrealist touch to it!
Do you happen to like Faulkner? I think Faulkner kind of shares the whimsical nature of surrealism. As I Lay Dying is definitely one of my favorite books.

      1. I have not heard of ‘William Faulkner’ but I’ll definitely check his poems. I’m always in search for poets that I can relate to and observe their writing style. 🙂
You know something…that book title has been calling to me for some time now. I think I might have heard of Faulkner before it just crossed my mind. But, seriously though, I will do more research on him and the book.

      2. He actually isn’t a poet, but he writes really good stream of consciousness. And yes, I absolutely love his titles “As I Lay Dying” and “The Sound and the Fury”!

      3. I took a look at his work yesterday…spent a few hours on end reading his poems, and a sample of his books. Yes, he definitely caught my attention and I’ll have his books on my list to buy. He was a great writer and pure stream consciousness that’s a fact. Thank you so much for introducing me to his work.
