The Cleansing Ritual

A process that disintegrates my coral stomach system,

With an arrow of titanium and spits of black

I prefer cleaning your insane, archaic touch that made me dark

The splashes of oval bowls of coughs and stigma

That stick to my tongue, my very pink tongue

Coughs and coughs till you understand this cleansing

And the thought process merges with your berserk piquant

Barbaric iris of the eye

Oh, you plunged the cactus and the roses all at once

Into my fingernails, into my saliva

I spit and spit and spit

This cleansing is a seduction of rituals

It takes time and then the skin is immaculate and cellophane clear

I take iterative baths on Mondays and Sundays

Hot water gargles cleanses my gums and tongue once more

For you clicked mouths to my book of statues and clock bell

I rub my painted matt nails,

I rub my Skull,

I rub this proliferating blood vessel dipped in your memoir

Rub, rub, rub

Ah, eh,

I  am a puddle now,

A flush of an Orchid tint.

Tilting in my own dirt

Defending my own soaked raisin body.

Twines and wires of your smooth photos

still can be traced inside my jigsaw heartbeats

one by one, somewhere.

  1. Oh dear god, this left me transfixed. It took me a couple of reads to understand the basic concept, and I still haven’t understood the intricacies of this write. Yet, when I let the words wash over me, it seems a divine poem with many, subjective, beautiful yet morbid interpretations.
    Thank you for sharing.

    1. Its all about cleaning. Cleaning of thoughts from the sick thoughts, the body or the touch of that insane person who never refuses to cling our skin.
I am sure you must have seen that through my words. Dont want to bore you still.

      Thank you dear one.

  2. It felt to me that you were saying that in truth, the cleansing could never be complete. That misconceptions and judgements could still remain however much cleansing was done. Don’t know uf I have got that right or not. You are so clever with words. Great poem

You write beautiful though it’s tinted with pain. 🙂 but i guess that is life and we all are here trying to clean our thoughts. Amazing words. ❤ (I hope all your pain is taken away soon)

  4. Wow..how well you explained the way of cleansing with beautiful imagery. The speciality about your poem is you make us feel through word like its happening in you or improve of you. With great vocabulary. The use of spit and spit, cough and cough nails and tongue and every detailed part make it more clear…””Twines and wires of your smooth photos

  6. You create a web of words Valiant.
I often feel entangled in them, I love them. This one is astounding. How hard we try to rub to clean to cleanse and run it doesn’t happen does it? Something still left. Some scars.
Amazing D. Life is all about it isn’t it? Dark. Light. Grey?
    Wow.

  7. “Coughs and coughs till you understand this cleansing” love it ❤

I understand the curiosity some feel in needing to decipher the words, but for me poetry should not be picked apart but rather enjoyed in its obscure beauty.

  8. Oh, dear, I have missed your words so much I’ve had to come and cling to your past writings. It is rare to find such authors whose words draw you in and hold you, like child to mother, and I find this in your poetry. My poetry dreams to be as deep and profound as yours. I can’t help but read this over and over, thinking all along that the writer is changing, shedding and finding new roots in that dirt. Maybe she is defending the wisdom in aging and simply wants to shed old thoughts to find more wisdom. I am in awe 🙂 ❤ ❤ ❤
