To A New Colour

Sacrosanct air, violet toes touching , spamming grounds
An eggshell face, with polka-dots
this family is vintage.
With bewildering tales, this air becomes scissor-talks,
A temple is burnt,
A miscarriage occurs,
The soil is pale black, the tremors are afraid
to knock the window pane.
You and I see this
We carry the stimuli of paranoia.
Splinters of forgotten prayers are stuck
to this void eye
Your brown eye,
my black eye,
What aftermath we plan?
Here, a lizard is awakened to walk across the parched souls
Here, a coffin is opened.
So we plan to walk into the land of oblivion words
where Grey- is the colour.

  1. Dilemma, chaos and uncertainty – all the things I felt as I read this. I imagine the end of the world to be like this and on a smaller scale, the end of a life. As usual, your prowess to weave together a series of images to form an intense emotion is evident in the uneasiness created by the end of the piece. dark it may be but well-written.

    1. Be it a dark poetry or a happy one, you never fail to imbibe its essence and that makes you a genuine reader and a writer.

Thank You Alex, for your brilliant insights and for understanding the dark part. I am happy you liked it.

      1. You are most welcome, MVS! We are all neatly packaged with a plethora of emotions and we hold both light and darkness inside. And you, my dear friend, are exceptional at finding the most creative ways to describe it all. I more than liked it – I loved it! 🙂

      2. You are more than welcome, MVS. Some people only want to read about love and happiness. Some people misinterpret the darkness others write about. I do understand and your poetry is just awesome. So write what you feel or what you experience, no matter how light or how dark. Besides, what you write is yours and only yours. If some of us can connect then that is a bonus 🙂

  4. a terse rendering of a series of events, stories embedded in each line, makes you pause and read each line once again, makes you see the colors of darkness.
    Loved this.

    1. No. Its not about hope.
It’s aabout a dark place or home where things are intense and a pious thing like a temple is burn depicting the harshness!
With pious things hampering, you can not hope for good.
