If I were a shadow.

Through the slices of segmented desire
Where the circumference of my peevish skin expands,
I inhale into the tiny molecules that flourish these numb walls,
Mending a crack,
With a mist of romance,
Point of lust, point of dainty smell of you.
I walk through the ruptures of placcid walls enunciating your presence,
And I peel the rim of this cucumber time zone
Where my legs fall in the abyss of surreal moments of you,
Like clicking of needles, rainwater puddle upon my iris,
Now beaming
As if I were a shadow of your dream.
A dream worth swallowing the darkness,
Just to produce the moon’s composure, a debonair companion.

  1. Sounds like healing and happiness are on the horizon.
“clicking of needles” a frighteningly subtle sound.
Just as “cucumber time zone” may be an indeterminate time?
    Both are commanding images…
I suspect there is more to this story.
But as I’m sure your other readers can attest…
we will all look forward to the next chapter you present us.:)

  2. If I were a shadow, I’d sit and observe your mind at work. This is an exquisite piece of writing, MVS, in your unique style. First, let me say, I love the image you selected for this poem – it fits so well with the overall shadowed theme and with the opening lines of ‘through the slices of segmented desire’. Each fold of the blind int he image is in segments so great find, here. Second, I really like how you use the comparison (perhaps) of an abandoned house (or empty room) to the human body to create a shadowed atmosphere in your piece. Third, and as usual, I love your unique descriptions of how the shadow (that pure, undulating desire) surfaces through the walls (or skin) as it runs piping hot through the veins; how it ruptures, causing you to become weak in the knees; how you become the shadow in that dream; and how you are willing to let the darkness consume you just so the moon can compose itself to be a worthy companion. This really is, brilliant poetry, my friend.

    1. Alex, you have captured my mind in a really perfect way as that is what is hidden in this piece. So glad to know you always resonate with my insights as it means a lot.
I am pleased to know you liked it and loved the imagery once again. Much thanks to you.
      Have a great day/night ahead!
