Beneath the professing sound of my laughter,
Above the splintery skin of my earlobes
A music of reverie churns inside my naval
like the icicles formed, sticking
to my opaque, incongruous chirpings flowing
in the arms of my composer
my sooth sayer, my caretaker.
The dormant dormitory now kindles,
as the path of dark abyss moves
in the horizon of encapsulating time space
where the drops of my wrinkle free cheeks
move up in the sky,
embellishing,
accessorizing,
as that brightest star,
fermenting your once dead spirit,
near your soft pillow.

Words can be the genesis of music. Poetry comes to life with sounds when read out loud. There is beautiful imagery in your poem, it traces a unique journey. Thanks for sharing and bringing us along for the ride.

I am always left in awe by your wonderful use of language and I read your poetry over and over, absorbing each line until I feel them inside. The secret star appears to be the sun rising in your smile, as you describe ‘where the drops of my wrinkle free cheeks
move up in the sky’. I’ve never heard a smile described in such a unique way. I imagine that smile finishes with a gleam in your eyes, the hidden universe inside of you. I would love to sit on the ridge of your mind and overlook your thoughts as they form. This is beautiful, as always, MVS!

“Above the splintery skin of my earlobes”
You do a very good job of combining adjective with nouns that would not regularly be used together
“splintery/skin…earlobes”
At first the specific image comes into reader’s mind.
Then the reader needs to take a step back and look at from different angles.
What would make ears splinter?
Loud or particularly harsh words entering one’s ears?
I think that each of your piece’s besides being stand-alone,
is tied in as part of a puzzle that spreads across the other works.
Perhaps that is how/where the ears became splintered.
It is hard to say for certain, but engages the reader to look…
To try to understand these connections…
To try to solve the puzzle you are presenting in your greater work.

After a long time my work is reviewed by you Forrest and I am thrilled to see that!
I was a bit haywire in my thoughts about that line you talked about but I guess it fitted well with the theme.
Unique Words are something that I always love to play with taking my imagination to a new level.
Once again, thank you for acknowledging my work with a veritable sincerity as that helps in motivating me.

It’s always a pleasure to read you work.
Take all my commentary with a grain of salt…
you write much better than I do.
